Grandma's Chocolate Fudge Recipe

If there is one treat that makes you think of Christmastime what would it be? Mine is chocolate fudge. My Grandmother would make us the best old fashion fudge every year, and I am sharing her recipe with you today. It makes an easy Holiday gift for your friends and neighbors, but be sure to keep some for yourself too!

Gather Your Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups granulate sugar

  • 1 can evaporated milk

  • 1/2 lb butter

  • 1 Tbs vanilla

  • 2 cups marshmallows

  • 2 cups nuts (optional. I prefer walnuts)

  • 18 oz chocolate morsels

Making The Fudge

Combine sugar, milk, butter, and vanilla in pot and bring to a boil.

Stir the mixture constantly for exactly 11 minutes as it boils. Remove from heat and add marshmallows, nuts, and chocolate. Beat until marshmallows are dissolved and smooth.

Pour into a pan that is well buttered or lined with parchment paper. Cool until firm. I usually put in fridge for approx. 2 hours.

Serving the Fudge

Cut into squares. Store in sealed container. Again, I prefer to keep mine cold in the fridge.
